Jessica Teel and her husband run GrizzlyBay – a website about the intelligence and individuality of grizzly bears in Alaska. Their "learn more" pages are filled with information about bear behavior, anatomy, and intelligence. The bear "journals" feature stories and photos about their time in the field with wild grizzly bears, foxes and one lengthy encounter with a wild white wolf. In Alaska, GrizzlyBay advocates on behalf of all predators, and for ethical wildlife viewing in the state.

Offering a broad knowledge of bears, Wikipedia touches on subjects from biology to relationships with humans to classification.  Along with some really interesting graphics and illustrations, this site also provides information about bears’ roles in cultures of the past and present day.  Did you know that the black bear is actually the state animal for three U.S. states?  Check out Wikipedia to find out which ones!

Bear Planet is a great place to find general knowledge about bears from their eating habits to anataomy to behavior.  This site also offers extensive information about 12 different types of bears and what makes them different.  Bear Planet is updated daily with more information, photos, and even polls to help you to be informed about popular topics and updates!

University of Michigan's Animal Diversity webpage has a full rundown of facts about Ursus Maritimus, more commonly known as the Polar Bear. A small photo gallery is provided, as well as an easy to scan side-section of species facts and stats.

The non-profit North American Bear Center has developed this site to not only give general information about bears, but it is ideal for those looking to correct common misconceptions about bears.  The non-profit focuses on information concerning bear behavior, including the noises they make, how they interact with humans, and even "a year in the life" section detailing bear behavior during different months of the year.  This site is great for finding useful general information and for those interested in bear rescue and the non-profit's work.

All bears are not created equal.  Bears.org is a great site to find out tons of information about individual bear species, such as, the brown bear, black bear, polar bear, asiatic bear, sloth bear, spectacled bear, sun bear, and giant panda.  The information details what makes each species of bear unique and even great facts that are not part of common bear knowledge.  Did you know that the giant panda was actually considered to be a type of raccoon until 1995?

National Geographic Kids provides 13 great click-through facts about bears, along with 4 great photos of younger bears in action! This site is geared for kids and is easy to navigate, by just clicking on the tabs you will be able to access tons of bear information from facts to videos to a map of where bears can commonly be found!
