When you have your animal at home it may be very shy. It is normal for an animal to be shy at first. Make sure you found and have every thing that "it" will need.
For example if you have a hamster or rat make sure the cage is tightly shut before you put him/her away.
What a fantastic idea. That's the best thing I should if I'm going to feed our birds in the cage.
