Forget the Middle East: Illegal Rhino Horn Now Destined for China

Although Yemen was once the largest importer of illegal rhino horn for use in ceremonial dagger handles, the country is no longer considered a driving force in the current rhino poaching crisis.

According to a recent report prepared by the IUCN/SSC and TRAFFIC, the major end-use market for illegal rhino horn today is China, and increasingly, Vietnam.
