India halts tiger tourism in attempt to prevent extinction

Mon, 3 May 2010

Eco-toursism to see animals all over the globe in their native environment has seen large growth.  What you may not realize is the demand to see a species like the Endangered Indan Tiger puts pressure on the environment and habitat in which they live with a large growth in lodges and jeep tours. This can be very disruptive to the natural cycles of the animals.

India has now outlawed Tiger tourism and willing to forgoe the money it generates for its citizens in order to try to save this magnificent animal.
