Scientists is South America have discovered that a species of Ant actually uses a 'Velcro Effect' which allows it to stick to trees and leaves. Included in this article is a video that shows how these ants can really hang on to what appears as a slippery leaf. They work in large numbers very patiently to capture larger prey.

So amazing to see these small creatures working so efficiently to get the prey. And also their hanging act is amusing.
I just found something to this video clip that you share that ants are often found clinging to leaves in which they are able to capture better target because of the Velcro-like adaptability between the downy under surface area of the leaves along with the tiny hooked claws of the worker ants.
Rainforest ants are using Velcro to hunt their food. They are hiding under the leaves waiting for their targets to prey.
